Sensex Opening Bell: Stock market green, Sensex jumps 250 points, Nifty crosses 17650

The Indian market is looking green on the expiry day of August futures series. Both Sensex and Nifty indices are open in green mark. Sensex has opened up about 250 points. Nifty also has a gain of 80 points. Sensex is currently trading at the level of 59,362.14. At the same time, Nifty is trading at the level of 17,687.25. Shares of Bharti Airtel and Tata Steel have gained up to one per cent each in early trade.

Earlier on Thursday, there were good signs for the market from the global market. US markets fell for three days. The Dow Jones closed up 60 points and the Nasdaq 50 points. Markets will keep an eye on the Jackson Hole meeting starting today.

SGX Nifty is showing strength. It is trading at the level of 17,700 with a gain of 70 points. Japan’s Nikkei is trading up 150 points. Foreign institutional investors bought Rs 23 crore in cash in the Indian market on Wednesday, while domestic institutional investors sold Rs 322 crore in cash during this period.

The Indian rupee has opened flat against the dollar at the level of 79.82. It had closed at the level of 79.8075 on the last trading day. Crude oil has reached the price of 102 US dollars. It is at a three-week high.
