Reports suggest that Scarlett Johansson will lead the upcoming Jurassic World film, taking over from Chris Pratt.

Reports suggest that a new Jurassic World film is in development with Gareth Edwards slated to direct. While an official announcement from the makers is pending, speculation is rife that another MCU star may take the lead role.

While Chris Patt was seen anchoring the franchise, playing the lead role in the previous three films, it is now being said that Scarlett Johansson is Universal’s new choice to feature in the upcoming Jurassic World film.

According to the latest reports by The Insider, Scarlett Johansson has been offered the role in the upcoming film in the franchise. The longtime MCQ star recently met both director Gareth Edwards and producer Frank Marshall; however, a confirmation is yet to be given about whether the actress has accepted the offer.

If the reports prove to be accurate, it could be a significant delight for fans as the torch passes from one MCU star to another. Many were left disheartened after Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow met an unfortunate end in Avengers: Endgame. The character, which played a pivotal role in the actress’ career, also propelled her to become the second highest-grossing box office star of all time.

Jurassic World 4: What we know so far

Jurassic Park is one of the highest-grossing franchises of all time. Following the conclusion of the first three films, Jurassic World came along and resurrected the franchise to the tune of $1.6 billion.

Despite the fact that the Jurassic World trilogy was a major success, it though failed to meet the critical reception and cult status gained by the original trilogy by Steven Spielberg. However, now that the franchise is going through a reboot, it will be interesting to see Gareth Edwards’ fresh take on the dinosaur kingdom.

As far as the details are known about the upcoming Jurassic World film, while Edwards will be the director, the script is being written by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp. Besides that, original producer Frank Marshall has also returned to produce this new film, while Steven Spielberg will serve as an executive producer for Amblin Entertainment.

Talking about the cast, it is believed that Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas won’t be returning and the same goes for Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, who were last seen in Jurassic World: Dominion.
