‘Scared As Heck’: Kamala Harris On Trump’s Potential White House Return

US Vice President Kamala Harris said that she was “scared as heck” about the possibility that ex-US President Donald Trump might return to the White House in the upcoming elections in November. Her comments came after Trump crossed the first step in the Republican nomination race by acing the Iowa caucuses on Monday, as per news agency AFP.

The 59-year-old made this remark on a talk show called, The View, aired on ABC network. Kamala Harris expressed, “I am scared as heck, which is why I’m travelling our country… we should all be scared.”

She was also questioned about the reports stating that Barack Obama, former US president, was concerned with Biden’s campaign, and about ex-first lady Michelle Obama’s comments that she was terrified of Trump winning a second term, reported AFP.

While commenting on this, the vice president replied, “We don’t run away from something when we’re scared, we fight back against it.”

Biden has been attacking Trump directly and warning that the former president is a threat to the US democracy.

Even as Kamala Harris emerged as a big fundraising draw for Democrats, she has been suffering from low approval ratings. She has been repeatedly targeted by Republicans who claim that she is unqualified to take over as president if anything were to happen to the 81-year-old US president Biden.

In the president’s reelection campaign this year, Harris has a substantial role, as it is centred on rallying Black, young, and female voters, particularly.

She is set to kickstart a nationwide tour from Wisconsin on Monday to promote women’s reproductive freedoms, as Democrats are looking forward to making abortion rights a major issue in the 2024 election race.
