The troubles of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, arrested in Patra Chawl scam, are not taking the name of lessening. On Monday, the PMLA court sent Sanjay Raut to ED remand till August 22. In this case, the ED had arrested him on July 31. Patra Chawl scam is worth Rs 1,043 crore. Raut is an accused in this case.

It is believed that today will not apply for bail. At the same time, after the decision of the court, he will now be taken to Arthur Road Jail. Earlier, on August 4, a hearing was held in the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court. In this, Raut was extended the period of custody for August 8 by the court. However, during that time also the ED had sought custody for 8 days.

Earlier on Saturday, Sanjay Raut’s wife Varsha Raut was questioned by the ED for more than 9 hours. Varsha Raut was interrogated on the basis of the evidence found in the investigation so far and the information received in the interrogation of Sanjay Raut.

During this, the agency questioned Varsha Raut about the deal of Dadar flat and Alibaug plot. The ED suspects that the plot in Alibaug was bought with the money of Patra Chawl scam. ED wants account of more than 1 crore money from Varsha Raut, which has come in his account. Also, the agency wants to know why 55 lakhs were transferred from the account of accused Praveen Raut’s wife to her account.

So far, assets worth 11 crores seized
This case is related to Patra Chawl in Goregaon area of ​​Mumbai. It is a plot of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority. There is an allegation of scam of about 1,034 crores in this. In this case, assets worth Rs 9 crore of Sanjay Raut and Rs 2 crore of Raut’s wife Varsha have been confiscated.

It is alleged that real estate businessman Praveen Raut cheated the people living in Patra Chawl. A construction company got the job of constructing 3,000 flats on this plot. Of these, 672 flats were to be given to the residents already living here. The rest was to be given to MHADA and the said company, but in the year 2011, parts of this huge plot were sold to other builders.
