Sanjana Sanghi worked with Imtiaz Ali in Rockstar.
Sanjana Sanghi said that after working in Rockstar in 2011, she wants to work with Imtiaz Ali again as a grown-up.
Actress Sanjana Sanghi has been working in Bollywood for a long time now. Although she made her full-fledged Bollywood debut in the 2020 film Dil Bechara, she was already seen in Ranbir Kapoor’s Rockstar in 2011 in a key role. She has also worked in the industry as a child artist. Now, the actress has expressed her desire to play Kareena Kapoor Khan’s iconic character Geet in Jab We Met 2.
Speaking to India Today, Sanjana spoke about wanting to work with Imtiaz Ali as a grown-up after Rockstar. When asked if she would like to play the role of Geet in Jab We Met 2, she said, “That would be the biggest dream come true. Working with him (Imtiaz Ali), now as a grown-up leading actor, is my dream that I don’t even speak out loud, and it’s something that I will happily put out into the universe.”
Earlier, there were rumours that the iconic film will be getting a sequel soon. However, these were quickly quashed, sparking a debate online on whether all iconic films should get a sequel or not. Jab We Met originally starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor in the leading roles as Geet and Aditya respectively.
The film revolves around Geet and Aditya who meet one day in a train due to fate and their lives get intertwined with one another. They later fall in love with one another as they help each other with their life’s problems.
As for Sanjana, the actress is currently seen in the Tarun Dudeja directorial venture Dhak Dhak. The film revolves around a group of four women who take a road trip on their bikes to the highest motorable pass in the world. The slice-of-life drama film also features Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ratna Pathak Shah and Dia Mirza in the lead roles.
