Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 may come with this new feature – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Samsung launched its first Wear OS-powered smartwatch Galaxy Watch 4 last year. The company is now said to be working on its successor — Galaxy Watch 5. A new online report suggests the upcoming flagship smartwatch from Samsung may come with a thermometer.
According to a report by ETNews, Samsung is working on incorporating a thermometer in the upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 series. The report adds that this feature will help in early detection of Covid-19 and will also help in keeping track of the ovulation cycles. The report mentions that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series is expected to be launched in August this year. Apart from this, no other information about the smartwatch is available right now.
A recent online report by Counterpoint revealed that India’s smartwatch market saw a record growth of over 274% YoY in 2021 shipments. Domestic brand Noise led the market in 2021 with a 27% share and over 278% YoY growth.
The second spot was captured by Boat with a 26% market share with Storm as its best-selling smartwatch. Boat was followed by Fire Boltt in third position. Realme got fourth place with a 23% YoY growth in 2021, while Amazfit rounded off the top five with 65% YoY growth.
When it comes to Samsung, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 remained its most popular model and helped by the sales of the Watch Active 2 the brand was able to grow more than 2X in 2021. The Galaxy Watch 4 series also contributed to over 16% of its total shipments.
