samsung: All three variants of Galaxy S22 will reportedly feature glass back – Times of India

Samsung’s move to ‘glasstic’ back panel brought several controversies. While the glasstic panel is essentially plastic, has more durability than glass back, but designed to give a glass-like feeling. It’s certainly more affordable and a major cost cutting measure, especially when used in premium flagship smartphones like Galaxy S21.
Latest reports suggest that Samsung is going to change that with Galaxy S22 series phones. Tipster Ice Universe’s latest Twitter post reveals that all three of Galaxy S22 series smartphones including the regular Galaxy S22 will feature a glass back panel.
Samsung used the glass back panel in Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra. However, the Galaxy S21 had the plastic back. For a smartphone that costs over Rs 70,000, the plastic panel feels a little less premium, but it certainly makes it more durable compared to the glass panel.
However, it is advisable to take this with a pinch of salt as of now, there’s nothing official and the tipster too does not have an spotless record of leaks and rumours.
For those unaware, Samsung is expected to introduce the successor of Galaxy S21 series next year and as per other leaks and rumours this year, India will get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 version instead of the Exynos 2200 version.
