Russian Tourist’s Body Parts Recovered From Stomach Of Shark After It Was Clubbed To Death

The body parts of a Russian tourist who was recorded being devoured alive by a shark were retrieved from within the predator’s guts after it was battered to a pulp by beachgoers near an Egyptian resort, New York Post reported. Vladimir Popov, 23, was seen on video last week being attacked by a tiger shark and dragged underwater near Hurghada as he shouted for aid. The shark was eventually captured, and beachgoers beat it to death on the beach.

The shark has subsequently been examined by doctors, who confirmed that it was the one that ate Popov after discovering his remains in its intestines, according to local news channel Al Arabiya.

According to officials, the shark struck Popov when he was swimming in the Red Sea at a resort beach in Hurghada.

Popov’s father, Yury, claimed the duo had “gone to the beach to relax” when his son “was attacked by a shark,” according to CEN.

Popov was in the water with his fiancée, who managed to flee, and other beachgoers stated there was little they could do as the shark chomped down on him.

Popov can be seen swimming around in the waves before being pulled under as shocked witnesses scream for aid in the horrific footage.

Before being hauled underwater, the victim cried, “Papa…save me!” according to CEN. According to eyewitnesses, the shark played with the Russian’s body for two hours after the death.

Yury called the attack “an absolutely ridiculous coincidence,” and said he would cremate his son’s ashes and bring them to Russia.

Many visitors were startled by the incident, and beachgoers gathered when detectives grabbed the shark and carried it ashore. A vigilante mob arrived and mercilessly clubbed the animal to death.

The video shows the gang cruelly abusing the animal, and it ends with the videographer posing for a selfie while the violent incident plays out in the background.
