According to the Kharkiv Region Defense Headquarters, the Ukrainian military shot down a Russian fighter aircraft over Kharkiv. The Russian pilot did not have time to eject and died on the spot.
Meanwhile, on the outskirts of Kyiv, Chernihiv in the north, Mykolaiv in the south, and Kharkiv, the Ukraine’s second-largest city, faced stepped-up shelling late Sunday.
