There has been a ruckus over the appointment of VC in Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). Letter dispute has started between CM Bhagwant Mann and Governor Banwari Lal Purohit. The letter posted by Bhagwant Mann to the governor from his Twitter handle is in Punjabi language. Whereas the letter received by Punjab Raj Bhavan is in English language. Regarding this, the Governor has now written a letter to CM Mann asking whether the Punjabi letter is correct or the English one.

In the controversy regarding the appointment of VC of PAU, CM Bhagwant Mann has told a lot of lies in a letter written in Punjabi to the Governor. Along with this, it has also been warned not to interfere in the work of the government. Apart from this, the appointment of VC has also been said to be done as per law, but in the English letter received by Punjab Raj Bhavan (Governor), CM Bhagwant Mann has used the term of respect while coming in request mode. In this, Bhagwant Mann has only requested the Governor to reconsider his decision.

CM Bhagwant Mann has admitted in a letter written in English that if the post of VC remains vacant for 2 months, then for the appointment of a new VC under section-15, the approval of the Chancellor has to be taken. In the letter, Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal has once again been described as a scholar and eminent, including completing the process of appointment of VC. CM Mann has finally appealed to the Governor to reconsider his decision to remove the VC.
