Security was tightened at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur in Maharashtra on Saturday after a bomb threat call from a an unidentified person.
“A phone call was received at the Police Control Room at 1 pm. A man threatened to blow up the RSS headquarters in Mahal area with a bomb,” said DCP, Zone III, Gorakh Bhamre, according to news agency PTI.
Immediately after the call, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and a dog squad was rushed to the spot and a thorough checking of the building was conducted but nothing suspicious was found, the DCP added.

The police has begun to track the number from where the unidentified call was made, while patrolling has been intensified around the RSS headquarters as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, a man was arrested from Mumbai for allegedly threatening bomb blasts at some places in Mumbai including on New Year’s eve, police said on Saturday, reported news agency PTI.

The accused, Narendra Kavale, was arrested from Dharavi in central Mumbai after he called up the police control room between 8:56 pm and 9.20 pm on Friday.
“He told the police control room that one Azhar Hussain has left from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh with three-four weapons and RDX (to carry out blasts),” an official said, according to PTI.
He also said prima facie Kavale made the call under the influence of alcohol.
A case was registered against Kavale under sections 182 (False information, with intent to cause public servant to use his lawful power to the injury of another person), 505 (1) ( Whoever makes, publishes or circulates any statement, rumour or report) and 506 (2) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
