New Delhi: India has geared up for the 73rd Republic Day to be celebrated on Wednesday as preparations are in full swing along with the full dress rehearsals being carried out for the Republic Day 2022 parade.
Even as the prestigious R-Day parade remains the major highlight of the event on January 26, there are several other attractions for the visitors on this historic day.
The ceremonial boulevard at Rajpath will look more beautiful than before as the revamped Central Vista Avenue in the national capital is all decked up for Republic Day celebrations.
On January 26, 1950, India moved a step forward after achieving independence from colonial rule and empowered itself with its own constitution.

Although the Constitution of India was adopted on November 26, 1949, it came into force on January 26, 1950. This was done to commemorate the declaration of Purna Swaraj or Complete Independence by the Indian National Congress on January 26, 1930.
The Constitution of India contains 395 articles divided into 22 parts and 8 schedules. It has laid down fundamental rights which are to be enjoyed by all the citizens of this country irrespective of any kind of bias. It also lays down some fundamental duties which every citizen of the country should abide by.
