Rani Mukerji’s ‘Mrs. Chatterjee VS Norway’ Becomes The Highest Grossing Bollywood Film In Norwa

New Delhi: Rani Mukerji, who turns 45 today on March 21, has got all the more reason to celebrate her birthday with joy. Her recently released him, ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’ garners the highest ever weekend collection in Norway for a Bollywood film, earning 745k Norwegian Krones with 4.8k occupancy, within a 3 day weekend.

Amongst previous best, Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Raees’ had 4.7k occupancy while Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ had 4.4k occupancy within a 5 day weekend duration. It also managed to surpass the collections of the recent blockbuster, ‘Pathaan’ which had 4.1k occupancy on a 5 day weekend.

The story is based on an immigrant mother’s battle against a nation to gain the custody of her kids, proficiently portrayed by Rani Mukerji. The film has been receiving immense love from around the globe for its heartrending storyline and epic depiction.

Reacting to the film’s response, Rani said, “I’m really happy to see the response from audiences because they have been giving the film with overwhelming amounts of love and I can’t thank them enough. I have always believed that a good film will always resonate with people and they will come out to the theatres to get an experience that is uplifting.”

She added, “I’m glad that ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’ is showing us that a content film can be a theatrical film in a post-pandemic world. I feel as an industry, we just need to make films that touch people’s hearts and not focus on which genre will work on the big screen and which won’t. If we make a good film, there will always be an audience who will come to the big screen to have a unique community viewing experience.”
