Animal released on the OTT platform Netflix on January 26.

The movie shattered records at the box office and earned over Rs 900 crore worldwide.

The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal emerged as one of the highest-grossing and controversial movies last year. Now, it is reportedly expected to premiere on television soon. The film was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and it also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in prominent roles. Produced with a budget of Rs 100 crore, the movie shattered records at the box office and earned over Rs 900 crore worldwide. After a successful theatrical run, the movie is currently streaming on Netflix. Now, as per the latest reports, it is believed that Animal will have a world television premiere on Sony Max. Recent buzz states that the movie will air on March 17 at 7 pm. The makers have not officially confirmed the date and time of the world TV premiere.

Animal was released on the OTT platform Netflix on January 26. Before the release of the movie on the OTT platform, several reports suggested that the extended version of the film would be released. The buzz was created after Sandeep Reddy Vanga revealed that he was planning to release an extended version, which he couldn’t do during its theatrical release owing to Censor Board rules and regulations. Fans were left disappointed after noticing no difference in the runtime and the addition of the censored scenes. The original duration of the movie was 3 hours and 23 minutes.

The movie explores the father-son bond between characters played by Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. Ranbir played the role of Vijay, who would go to any lengths to protect his father, which included gunning down 200 people and having an extramarital affair.

Despite his efforts, he struggles to get a seal of approval from his emotionally unavailable father (played by Anil Kapoor). The film opened to strong reactions. While a section of the audience enjoyed the film, a section of the audience also criticised Animal for ‘promoting toxic masculinity.’ The sequel of the movie is expected to be released next year. It will be apparently titled Animal Park.
