‘Ram Lalla will no longer live in a tent’: PM Modi addresses gathering after ‘Pran Pratishtha’ in Ayodhya

Ayodhya Ram Mandir: After the culmination of the auspicious ‘Pram Pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday addressed the gathering on the temple’s premises in Ayodhya. Speaking at the event, he began his speech with a chant of ‘Siyavar Ramchandra ki jay.’  Reminishing the past, the Prime Minister said that the Ram Lalla will no longer live in a tent but in a grand temple. 

“There is so much to say.. but my throat is choked…My body is still pulsating. The mind is still absorbed in the past…But our Ram Lalla will no longer live in a tent now…Our Ram Lalla will now live in the Divya Ram temple…” the PM said.

‘January 22, 2024, is not merely a date’

PM Modi declared that January 22, 2024, transcends beyond a mere date, signifying the onset of a transformative era. He emphasized that the significance of this moment will endure for thousands of years, etched into the collective memory of generations to come. Expressing profound gratitude for witnessing this monumental occasion, PM Modi attributed the event to the supreme blessings of Lord Ram, underscoring the spiritual and historical magnitude embedded in the fabric of January 22.

“Lord Ram has finally arrived (in his abode) following the wait of centuries. After the patience that we showed for centuries and the sacrifices we made, our Lord Ram has finally arrived,” the PM remarked. 

Why PM Modi apologised to Lod Ram? 

Speaking further, the Prime Minister said that the legal battle over the existence of Lord Ram went on for decades. He also expressed gratitude to the judiciary of India for doing justice. “Today, I also apologise to Lord Shri Ram. There must be something lacking in our effort, sacrifice and penance that we could not do this work for so many centuries. Today the work has been completed. I believe that Lord Shri Ram will definitely forgive us today,” he remarked. 

PM terms the day as ‘historic’

Expressing unwavering faith and deep conviction, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserts his firm belief that on this historic day, devotees of Lord Ram are fully immersed in the profound significance of the moment. “From every corner of the country and across the globe, devotees are intricately connected to the sanctity of this event, feeling its resonance in their hearts,” he said. PM Modi also underscored the divine nature of this moment, portraying it as the epitome of holiness, transcending geographical boundaries and uniting devotees in a shared spiritual experience.

PM Modi attends Pran Pratishtha ceremony 

Earlier today, Prime Minister Modi participated in the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Shri Ramlalla in the newly-built Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya. During the auspicious ‘Pran Pratishtha, the Prime Minister also performed ‘parikrama’ of the deity and did ‘dandvat pranam’. He also took blessings from ‘sadhus’ at the temple. Taking to X, he said that the divine moment of Pran Prathishta of Shri Ram Lala in Ayodhya Dham is an emotional moment for everyone. “It is my good fortune to be part of this unique programme. Jai Siyaram,” he added.  

About the Ram Temple

It should be mentioned here that the magnificent Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir has been constructed in traditional Nagara style. Its length (east-west) is 380 feet; width 250 feet and height is 161 feet; and is supported by a total of 392 pillars and 44 doors. The pillars and walls of the temple showcase intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, gods, and goddesses. In the main sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor, the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram (the idol of Shri Ramlalla) has been placed.
