‘Rakshak Hi Bhakshak’: BJP Targets Gehlot, Priyanka Gandhi Over Dausa Minor’s Rape In Rajasthan

The BJP has trained its guns on the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra over the Dausa minor rape case. BJP leader Shehzad Poonawala took to social networking platform X and said the incident has “put humanity to shame”.
Shehzad Poonawala was referring to the incident in the Lalsot area of Rajasthan’s Dausa district, where a police sub-inspector was accused of raping a minor girl on Friday afternoon. The victim, a young girl believed to be around four-five years old, was reportedly lured into the accused’s room, where the heinous act took place. The accused cop is currently in custody and is undergoing interrogation, according to Assistant Superintendent Of Police (ASP) Ramchandra Singh Nehra, as reported by PTI.

The incident triggered widespread public outrage as locals gathered at the Rahuwas police station to stage a protest against the cops. BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena also visited the site, condemning the incident and urging justice for the young victim.

Poonawalla alleged that when the father of the minor girl approached the police to register his complaint, he was thrashed. “Today rakshak [protector] has become bhakshak [devourer] under Gehlot raj”. He said that the Rajasthan government had given rapists a free run and the Congress gave tickets to people who promoted rapes. “As many as 20-22 incidents per day of women atrocities But Priyanka Vadra silent even as Rajasthan becomes no.1 in rapes Instead she rewards Shanti Dhariwal who says ‘mardon ka pradesh [state of men]’ and justifies rapes,” he said.

Poonawala said that of all the crimes against women in India, Rajasthan saw 22%. Taking a dig at Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, he said: “She promotes ‘Ladki hoon lad sakti hoon [I am a girl and I can fight]’. Where are you now Priyanka ji?”

He said that due to such incidents, the December 3 election results will ensure that the Congress is ousted from power by the people. The 200-member Rajasthan assembly goes to polls on November 25.

Dausa Superintendent Of Police (ASP) Vandita Rana emphasized the seriousness of the crime, stating, “The exact age of the victim girl will be determined after a medical examination and based on the report of the victim’s family members,” as quoted by PTI.
