Rajnath Singh will reach Chandigarh this afternoon: Police’s route plan released; Appeal to use alternative route from 5 to 8 pm

Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will reach Chandigarh this afternoon. After this, at 4 pm, he will reach to address the rally organized at the Exhibition Ground in Sector-34. At the same time, the Chandigarh Police is ready on the entire route. Last Friday, Chandigarh Police conducted rehearsal on the prescribed route including taking stock of the security arrangements.

Simultaneously, an investigation campaign was launched in Sector 34 rally ground and surrounding areas. The route plan has been issued by the UT Police to avoid inconvenience to the common man.

This will be the route plan
From Kalibari Light Point, Sector-31/32/46/47 Chowk, Sector-32/33/45/46 Chowk and Sector-33/34/44/45 Chowk, Shanti Path and Sector-33/34/40/45 Traffic has been diverted/restricted on some roads near Sector-34 Mela Ground besides Light Point, Sector-33/34 on Sarovar Path.

Apart from this, traffic will be affected from New Labor Chowk Sector-33/34/20/21 to Burail Chowk Sector-33/34/44/45 Chowk and from Sarovar Path Sector-33/34 Light Point to Gurudwara Sahib Sector-34. Traffic on the internal roads of Sector 34 will also be affected. The police department has appealed to the people to avoid movement from the said routes from 5 to 8 pm and use alternative routes.
