Veteran Congress leader and former minister Indira Mayaram passed away late at night in Jaipur due to a heart attack.

Mayaram has been MLA from the Sanganer assembly constituency for two terms from 1993 to 1998.
Apart from this, Mayaram has been a minister in the first term of the Ashok Gehlot government. Mayaram defeated BJP leader Vidya Pathak from Sanganer.
Mayaram has also been the President of the Rajasthan Mahila Congress. Mayaram has also been the chairman of the Nehru Youth Board.
