JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) will conduct its board exams for classes 10 and 12 from March 3 following Covid-19 guidelines.
This was decided at a meeting of the high-level examination committee held on Monday under the chairmanship of education minister BD Kalla, laying to rest speculations regarding whether the board exams would be held this year due to the rise in Covid cases. Over 20 lakh students are expected to take the exam at a total of 6,074 centres. Some 2,874 home guards and about 830 police units will be deployed for the successful and safe conduct of exams. Around 300 centers, including 60 answer sheet collection/distribution centers and sensitive/hyper-sensitive exam centres, will be monitored by CCTV.
To ensure physical distance at all centres, the number of students will be decreased and arrangements made for masks and sanitisers.
Strict action will be taken against candidates who cheat. The minister also said that the practical examinations for Class 12, starting on January 17 this month, would be held as scheduled and only local teachers appointed as invigilators. Pawan Kumar Goel, additional chief secretary, education department, said that all officers of the department would make all efforts to conduct the examinations in a time-bound, safe and fair manner in coordination with all departments concerned.
