The Meteorological Department has forecast that from July 12 to 15, there will be little or no monsoon activity in the state. There will be a possibility of drizzle or light rain in some isolated areas. Monsoon will once again be active in the state from the night of July 15 and rain activities will increase again.

There may be a possibility of light to moderate rain, but meteorologists are denying the possibility of torrential rain.

It rained in North Haryana at night

If you look at the data released by the Meteorological Department for the last 12 hours regarding rain, 63.8 mm in Panchkula, 36 mm in Yamunanagar, 24.5 mm in Karnal, 18.5 mm in Kurukshetra, 2.5 mm in Mahendragarh, 1 mm in Mewat, 0.5 mm of rain has been recorded in Rohtak, 0.5 mm in Fatehabad and Dabwali. Drizzle has occurred in some other areas.

Due to moisture laden winds from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal, isolated moderate to heavy rain occurred at most places over north and south and southeast regions of Haryana state during July 5 to 10. Light rain was recorded at some places in the Western and South Western districts. People are facing floods in Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Panchkula and Karnal. The water coming from the mountains in Yamuna and other rivers is increasing. Flood situation has arisen in many places.

Dr. Madan Khichad, Chairman, Department of Agricultural Meteorology, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, said that due to the formation of monsoon turf towards the southeast from normal, the monsoon activity is likely to remain low in Haryana for the next 3 days i.e. till July 14.

Light to moderate rain likely at isolated places in northern districts of the state Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal and south-southeast districts of Mahendergarh, Rewari, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Nuh, Palwal, Faridabad, Rohtak, Sonipat, Panipat Is.

But during this period the weather will generally remain changeable in Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jind, Bhiwani, Charkhidadri districts of western and south western Haryana. 97 percent more rain than normal

If we look at the rainfall figures in Haryana from June 1 to July 11, the state has received 97 percent more rainfall in about a quarter of a month. In these days, against the normal rainfall of 99.5 mm, Haryana has received an average of 196.1 mm of rain. In 24 hours on July 11, the rainfall was 306 percent more. As against the normal rainfall of 6.6 mm, the state has received 26.8 mm of rain.

Less rain than normal in Hisar-Jind

If we look at the activities of rains going on in the state in the last one and a quarter months, Hisar and Jind are two such districts, which have received less rainfall than normal. From June 1 to July 11, Jind received 84.1 mm of rainfall, which is 18% less than normal. Hisar has received 55.9 mm of rain, which is 24 per cent less than normal. In both the districts, paddy is grown in the Kharif season and farmers are waiting for good rains here.

Most rain in Kurukshetra

According to IMD, the highest rainfall in Haryana so far has been 414.4 mm in Kurukshetra district from June 1 to July 11. This is 304 percent more than normal. After this, Sonipat received 310.8 mm of rain, which was 211 per cent more than normal. 11 districts of the state ie half of Haryana have recorded more than 100 percent rainfall during this period. These districts include Sonipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Rewari, Panipat, Panchkula, Nuh, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Charkhi Dadri.
