After the Governor of Tamil Nadu, now the Governor of Rajasthan is in discussion. Targeting the Gehlot government, Governor Kalraj Mishra has said that the practice of calling the session directly without proroguing the assembly session is fatal for democratic systems. Due to this, the legislators do not get any opportunity except asking a fixed number of questions. Overall, the governor says that the practice of limiting the questions of legislators is wrong.

Governor Kalraj Mishra addressed the closing ceremony of the two-day Speakers' Conference in the Vidhan Sabha on Thursday. He said- The decreasing number of sittings of the House is a matter of concern. Due to this, time is not available to raise the problems of the public.

Now who will tell the Governor that despite having full independence, how many MLAs ask how many questions? How alert and eager are they to ask questions? Then the question is also how – how? A few years ago, a comparative study revealed that most of the questions asked by legislators in the Vidhansabha are related to their own and their family or friends’ business or profession. The people who elected him and sent him to the assembly to raise their problems, that feeling.

Where did you go then? Who would think of them?
After all, what will happen to the democratic systems for which the governor is showing concern, when the electing and voting public will no longer have faith in their representatives? Because the public should have faith in their representatives, they neither do anything nor do they appear to be doing anything like this! It should be that not only MLAs, MPs, mayors, councilors, district presidents, even panchs and sarpanchs should also work hard to win and maintain the trust of the public. There is no better way to pay respect to democracy.

Governor Kalraj Mishra said – MLAs are at a loss if the assembly session is not prorogued. Constitutional processes are not completed if there is no opportunity to ask questions.

If the public’s faith remains intact, then democracy will remain intact and purity will gradually come in politics. This is the time to unite every good force in the country and fight for the purity of politics. In true sense, the meaning of success is that there should be an abundance of good forces on every front, everywhere in the country and the world, and all those good forces should work together or remain engaged in some work. As far as MLAs asking more and more questions is concerned, it can be improved only if they themselves have the will to solve public problems in true spirit!
