Punjab’s new Chief Secretary Anurag Verma: 1993 batch IAS officer, VK Janjua will retire on June 30

IAS officer Anurag Verma has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary in Punjab. The AAP government has issued a notification regarding this. The present Chief Secretary VK Janjua will retire on June 30.

Janjua has not been given extension by UPSC. This is the reason why the Punjab government has entrusted the responsibility to Anurag Verma. Earlier, the name of IAS KAP Sinha was also included in the race for the post of Chief Secretary.

Applied for the post of PPSC chairman
Significantly, the present Chief Secretary VK Janjua has applied for the post of Chairman of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC). However, the state government has not yet taken a decision on this.
