Punjab Election 2022: SSM yet to launch campaign, but constituent holds meeting | Amritsar News – Times of India

AJNALA: The leaders of the Republic Kisan Sabha (JKS), one of the constituents of Balbir Singh Rajewal-led Sanyukt Samaj Morcha (SSM), on Monday promised to eradicate unemployment, corruption, price rise and mafia from the face of Punjab in a meeting held here on Monday.
“There is not only a need to raise a serious voice against these evils that have, over the years, crept in our society, but to eradicate them; SSM is all about raising our voice and not to remain silent on these issues,” said Rattan Singh Randhawa, state vice-president of JKS, on Monday.
Though SSM is yet to launch its campaign for the February 14 assembly elections in Punjab, JKS held an election meeting in Ajnala to showcase its ideology and make preparations for the polls.
Stating that voting was essential to pushing the democratic machinery to function in a fair manner, Randhawa, who is also president of Border Area Sangarash Committee, said SSM would be contesting elections to ensure people vote for policies that benefit them, the state and the nation most.
Sources said though candidates selected by SSM would be acceptable to all constituents of the morcha, every constituent farm union had already recommended names of their candidates for particular assembly constituencies.
