Chandigarh/Amritsar5 minutes ago

The Punjab Police, which came on the backfoot after the interview given by gangster Lawrence, the main accused in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala, from inside the jail, has presented its clarification. Two days after the interview, on Thursday, Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav tried to clarify the situation by holding a press conference in Chandigarh. Keeping the facts related to Lawrence in sequence, the DGP claimed that this interview did not take place inside Punjab.

To prove his claim, the DGP also presented photographs of Lawrence on March 9, March 14 and today i.e. March 16 in front of the media. Lawrence is seen sporting a short haircut and trim beard in these photos taken during his appearances at Bathinda Jail and Talwandi Sabo Court, while in an interview released on March 14 on a TV channel, his beard was grown and his head hair was also long.

The DGP of Punjab even claimed that Lawrence had been in jails of other states for the last several years. After the murder of Sidhu Musewala, the Punjab Police has neutralized his network by bringing him to the jails of the state. Amidst this claim of the DGP, the question still remains a challenge as to where Lawrence’s interview took place?

DGP Gaurav Yadav told that Rajasthan Police released Lawrence Bishnoi in Bathinda Jail on 8 March. Then on March 9, after taking one-day police remand of Lawrence from Talwandi Sabo Court, he was again brought to Bathinda Jail on March 10. The DGP said that Lawrence’s interview was made public on March 14.

In the interview, Lawrence Bishnoi has long beard and long hair and is wearing a yellow T-shirt. But when Lawrence was brought to Bathinda jail on March 10, he had short hair. The DGP claimed that Lawrence’s dress and hair cut during that period made his interview old and out of jail in Punjab.

Communication dead in Bathinda jail, studio’s sound quality

The DGP said that the sound audio quality of the interview is not very high. It described the audio-video quality of the studio. He told that it is not possible to conduct this interview in the communication dead zone of Bathinda Central Jail. Furthermore, he argued that the interview did not even mention Bishnoi’s recent spat with gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria or the Goindwal jail incident. Whereas after the video of 30 minutes 20 seconds, there is mention of another jail.

Deactivated by bringing Lawrence in Punjab

DGP Yadav said that Lawrence has spent all his jail time in jails of other states. From where he used to run his network. He was kept in a high-security zone in Punjab. Due to which he has become inactive. To escape from the Punjab Police, he appealed to the Supreme Court and demanded that he be sent out of Punjab. But he failed.

BSF officer is jail superintendent

DGP Gaurav Yadav told that Lawrence has been kept in the isolated high security cell of Bathinda Jail. Its internal security is done by para-military forces. While there is jail staff outside. The responsibility of this jail is also with ND Negi. Those who have come to this department after being deputed from BSF.

Mobiles do not work in high-security zone

Jammers have been installed inside the jail with technical help. Signals are checked three to four times a day. Without signal loud video cannot be sanded. Prisoners live under CCTV surveillance for 24 hours. Not only this, the light of this cell is not switched off even during the night. The case lights are dimmed at night so that the guards can keep an eye on the prisoners.

Some people want to disturb the peace and brotherhood of Punjab

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that some people sitting outside Punjab are spreading false news and rumors to disturb the peace of the state. They systematically upload fake news on social media platforms using virtual private networks. The DGP said that the G-20 is running very safely.

But a private TV network tweeted a false rumor from Bathinda. The police were asked to remove this fake tweet. The DGP warned of legal action against those spreading fake news. He appealed to show or publish the news only after checking the facts.
