CM Bhagwant Mann has reached Delhi for the first time after the defeat of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Sangrur Lok Sabha by-election. Here he is meeting his party convener Arvind Kejriwal. Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab Raghav Chadha will also be present on the occasion. This meeting is very important in terms of Sangrur by-election results. After the victory in the assembly elections, AAP could not retain it in Punjab. In contrast, AAP won the assembly by-elections in Delhi.
Apart from this, in July itself, the Mann government has to expand the cabinet. At present there are 10 ministers including CM. Mann government can make 8 more ministers. There can be discussion about this also. This includes the post of Health Minister Dr. Vijay Singla, who was dismissed in the corruption case.

In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party had won 92 out of 117 seats in the assembly elections three months back. AAP also won nine seats under Sangrur Lok seat. Apart from CM Bhagwant Mann, two ministers Harpal Cheema and Meet Hair also won from here. As soon as the government was formed, AAP made corruption the biggest issue. However, in the Sangrur bypoll, AAP candidate Gurmel Singh lost. This defeat was also significant because he was defeated by Simranjit Mann of SAD Amritsar, who contested the elections for a mere formality in the politics of Punjab.
Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was murdered on 29 May in Jawaharke village of Mansa. In Sangrur elections, this issue was very much covered. Which hurt AAP.
Sidhu Musewala murder case
The Aam Aadmi Party is now busy analyzing the defeat. However, the main reason behind AAP’s defeat was the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. The AAP government had reduced Moosewala’s security. The next day he was murdered. However, his two gunmen were not with him at the time of the murder. Youth Mann got angry with the government because of Moosewala’s murder. Musewala was about to campaign for Simranjit Mann. So the youth cast their vote for Mann and he won.
