Priyanka Chopra recently got candid about how her perspective at life changed after her father’s death.

Priyanka Chopra is a global star. Not only does she enjoy unparalleled stardom in India but in the USA as well. As such, the Desi girl is bound to make headlines whenever she shares something on her social media timeline or steps out of home. The actress recently shared an interview about juggling between work and family. She also revealed the defining moment that changed her perspective of life.

During a conversation with Tiffany Reid for the Marshalls Good Stuff Social event, PeeCee recalled, “I don’t remember how many of my mother’s birthdays I have forgotten or I might have missed. How many times I forgot to call her in my 20s? or how many times like I missed Diwali because I am working in Europe and they don’t have Diwali here so it’s fine. I just skipped and missed and didn’t think it was okay till I did.”

She added, “Till my dad died and I didn’t have another Diwali to be with him. When he got sick, it was a really big… I think that was a very momentous moment for me where I realised that life is short and we worry about so many trivial things when there are so many big things for us to worry about. I think focusing on that brings you to the ground.”

Dr Ashok Chopra passed away in 2013, after having a long battle with cancer. He was a physician in the Indian Army and took his last breath at the age of 62. Priyanka, who has often spoken about how close she was to him, was devastated after his death. Her father’s death took a toll on her mental health. In a nod to her father, Priyanka got the words ‘Daddy’s little girl’ inked on her wrist in his handwriting. Priyanka often speaks about how her dad was her biggest cheerleader.

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra has some exciting projects lined up. She is set to appear in the film Heads Of State, where she will share the screen with John Cena and Idris Elba. Additionally, she has a Bollywood film titled Jee Le Zaraa, directed by Farhan Akhtar, in the pipeline.
