Former West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee’s troubles are increasing in the teacher recruitment scam. After the raid on Arpita Mukherjee’s flats, now the investigating agency can raid Parth’s houses as well. It is being told that the ED team can reach three houses and one guest house in Santiniketan in Birbhum district of Parth soon. Parth had to visit these places regularly.

Here, Partha Chatterjee and his close aide Arpita Mukherjee were taken to the hospital for the third time on Friday for a checkup. On reaching the hospital, Arpita started crying loudly in the car and fainted. When she was dropped, she sat on the road. Meanwhile, Parth told the media that he has been implicated under the conspiracy.

Big updates related to Parth-Arpita

  1. ED has also sent notice to Krishna Kalyani, TMC MLA from Raiganj in the teacher recruitment scam. His company Kalyani Sholvex is accused of money laundering in this scam.
  2. Arpita has confessed that Parth used to keep cash in their flats, but Arpita did not expect that much cash.

  4. MLA Manik Bhattacharya refused to appear before the ED on Friday citing ill health. He was the chairman of the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSS) at the time of the scam.

Parth ate after 5 days
ED sources said that Partha Chatterjee continued to take only green tea and biscuits for five days after his arrest on Saturday. He had eaten lentils and roti on Wednesday night. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had removed him from the post of minister on Thursday. He has also been suspended from the party.

Documents related to real estate were also found
His flats in Chinar Park and Nayabad were also searched on Thursday evening. According to sources, two real estate related documents have been found from these places. Investigation has revealed that the money received from the teacher recruitment scam was being invested in real estate.

Arpita’s house was raided by the ED on July 23 and July 28. The ED action lasted for 26 hours on the first day and 18 hours on the second day.

There is a teacher recruitment scam of 120 crores
The ED, in its affidavit filed in the PMLA court on July 25, had said that the scam is of Rs 120 crore. It has only teachers recruitment money. Right now the ED team can raid 15 more places.

Parth’s troubles increased after Arpita’s confession
According to ED sources, Arpita broke her silence for the first time about the cash amount of Rs 50 crore received from her flat so far. Arpita confessed to the investigating agency on Thursday that all these money belonged to Parth, but it is not known how much. ED will take further action against Parth on the basis of Arpita’s statement.
