Villagers in Haryana’s Jhajjar village Bhaparoda have come out in protest against giving 4 acres of land to Olympian wrestler Bajrang Punia for an academy. Bajrang is basically a resident of Khuddan village of Jhajjar. Presently she is on strike with women wrestlers at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar regarding the arrest of MP Brij Bhushan. His residence is also in Sonepat.

According to the case, the Panchayati land was auctioned in Bhapdauda village of Jhajjar on May 2, but the lease of 4 acres of land was not given to anyone. When the villagers started researching about this, it came to know that the Gram Panchayat will give its 4 acres of land to Olympian Bajrang Punia to make it an academy. Although its proposal has not yet been passed, but the Gram Panchayat has taken its decision at its level. Bapdauda village is situated near Sampla on the way from Sonipat to Jhajjar.

Expressed protest in front of DC
In protest against giving panchayat land to Bajrang Poonia, he went to meet DC Captain Shakti Singh at the rural small secretariat of village Bhaparoda on Friday. Villagers told the DC that on May 2, the village panchayat land was auctioned by the gram panchayat, but the auction of 4 acres of panchayat land was not conducted. Efforts are being made to hand over Panchayati land to Kabaddi Academy to wrestler Bajrang Punia quietly. The villagers are not even aware of this.

This is the demand of the villagers
Bhapdoda resident Ankur Rathi told reporters that apart from two Arjuna Award winning players, there are other national players in Bhapdoda village itself. There is already a sports stadium in the village. The people of the village are neither against sports nor against the players. Players are the honor of the country and the state and they respect all the players.

initiative belongs to our players
But the Gram Panchayat is trying to give 4 acres of land to player Bajrang Punia out of the Panchayati land of the village, which is completely wrong. The villagers want that there are good and Arjuna awardee players in the village, if the Gram Panchayat has to give land for the academy, then priority should be given to the players of the village first to set up the academy. If any player of the village is not ready to build an academy on Panchayati land, then the Gram Panchayat should think about giving land to other players.

DC said – will get the investigation done

DC Captain Shakti Singh has assured the villagers that they will get the matter investigated. The villagers said that we want a good academy to be built for the players in the village and the players of the village should bring laurels to their village and state.
