Every year 2.5 million Indians are going abroad. These are the most from any country.

Today is Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. This day is celebrated to honor the contribution of migrants. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, there are more than 32 million Indian expatriates in the world. Of these, more than 20 million i.e. about 70% are in America, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Myanmar, UK, Canada and Sri Lanka. America has the highest number of 44.5 lakh Indians. In the list of various countries of the world receiving money from migrants, India has remained number 1 since the year 2008 i.e. 14 years.

Despite the Corona epidemic, in the year 2021, migrants sent $ 87 billion (about Rs 6.5 lakh crore) to India. This amount is 4.6% more than the year 2020. In this, 20% of the money has been sent by Indians from America. There is also a fact that every year about 2.5 million Indians are going abroad for migration.

This number is the highest compared to any other country. On the occasion of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, Indian Diaspora Executive Director Sanjeev Joshipura told Dainik Bhaskar that Indians have been playing important roles for a decade. The organization is representing 30 million overseas Indians from more than 28 countries.

Now Indian students talk in the eyes of American students
Sanjeev Joshipura, a member of the Committee to Advise Members of the US Parliament on Economics and International Affairs, was born in India. He said, ‘The relationship between India and America is getting stronger. Now in India too, the recognition of migrants is transcending party lines. The role of migrants today is considered as a bridge between India and America. Till 2015, Indian students could not see eye to eye with American students.

Now with the majority of Indian students and IT professionals in the US, the equations have changed. Though there are some hurdles, but the change is in a positive direction. Positive because earlier Indians mainly focused on academic and business success, but now they are financially secure and are participating in fields like acting, sports, art, music. In addition, participation in politics has increased.

In the administration of President Joe Biden, more than 80 Indian-Americans are posted in important positions. Being Indian-American today means being an integral part of the mainstream in the US and globally. The success of Indian-Americans has increased their soft power. Its direct impact is visible in the making of policies. Indians are at the fore in philanthropy not only in the country but also in America.
