Poonam Pandey has passed away. Her team confirmed the news with News18. “She passed away last night,” her team said. The news of her death was first revealed in a post shared on her official Instagram handle. “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared,” the post read.

Now, Poonam’s bodyguard, Amin Khan, has reacted to the death. Talking to ETimes, he expressed disbelief and said, “I don’t believe this, and I am trying to reach her sister, who is not replying to me. I am reading about her death through the media.”

Khan said he accompanied her on January 31 for a photo shoot for Rohit Verma at Mumbai’s Phoenix mill. She seemed fit and never talked about her health. He said, “She always looked fit and fine and never shared anything about her health nor did I find any sign of her ill health. I am waiting for her sister to tell me the truth,” he was quoted as per ETimes.

On the work front, Poonam was last seen in the first season of Lock Upp hosted by Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. Though she did not win the show, she did expand her fan base. The first season of Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp was won by stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui. Lock Upp had 14 contestants including Payal Rohatgi, Kaaranvir Bohra, Anjali Arora, Babita Phogat among others. Munawar and Anjali expressed shock at her demise and extended condolences to her loved ones.
