In the last assembly elections, Dhiru Gajera from Congress had contested against Kumar Kanani of BJP from Varachha. Dhiru Gajera has gone to BJP this time. Last time BJP’s Kumar Kanani got 68472 votes and Dhiru Gajera got 54747 votes. Dhiru Gajera lost by 13990 votes. It is a Patidar dominated seat.
Support of Hindi speaking and Muslim voters from Surat East seat from Udhna
This time Congress has fielded Hindi-speaking Dhansukh Rajput as its candidate from Udhna. Last time Satish Patel was the candidate, who lost by 42 thousand votes. In Udhna, more than 50 thousand votes are of Hindi speaking people. This time Congress has fielded Aslam Cycle Wala from Surat East seat. There are 93 thousand Muslim voters in this seat.

Kamrej: Ashok Jeerawala, who lost by 28191 votes last time, joined BJP
In the last election, Congress had fielded Ashok Jeerawala from Kamrej seat. From here Ashok Jeerawala got 119180 votes while BJP’s VD Jhalawariya got 147371 votes. Ashok lost the election by 28191 votes. Ashok Jeerawala has joined BJP. Congress has fielded Nilesh Kumbhani from here this time.
