Police have arrested 10 people protesting the punishment of terrorist Yasin Malik in Srinagar. These arrests have been made under UAPA. Police said that more accused are being identified. He too will be arrested soon.

All these have been arrested under Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), Section 120B of the IPC, 147,148,149, 336 under Section 34 of the IPC.

Stone pelted before punishment
Yasin Malik was sentenced to life imprisonment on Wednesday. Before the sentencing, Malik’s supporters staged a protest. Security forces were also deployed at Yasin’s house. Some people from the crowd pelted stones at the security forces. The security forces also fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. At the same time, mobile, internet services were stopped in Srinagar to maintain law and order.

Security forces had made tight security
Security forces personnel were continuously patrolling the outskirts of Srinagar. Efforts were being made to prevent any suspicious person from committing the crime. There was blockade everywhere. Security arrangements were made at all sensitive places in Jammu.
