Medicines have become expensive in Himachal. The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has increased the rates of many medicines including pneumonia. Maximum and retail prices (MRP) of medicines have been fixed. The prices of medicines for pneumonia, meningitis, infection, bacterial infection have been fixed.

The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed the rates after calculating the retail prices. Its notification has also been issued. A warning has also been issued in the notification that the department will take strictest action if medicines are sold at rates higher than the prescribed prices.

The retail prices were calculated on the basis of DPCO-2013 after which the price of Novaclox LB Capsule which is used in pneumonia, meningitis, abdominal infections, Gas and others have been fixed . The prices of Tresmox LB Capsule for use in Bacterial Infections and Throat Infection have also been decided after calculations.

Per unit increase in prices of these medicines
The rate of Amplus AB capsule used in pneumonia, meningitis, stomach infection is Rs 7.84 per unit, the rate of Novaclox LB capsule used in gas and others is Rs 4.84 and Tresmox LB used in bacterial infection and throat infection. The rate will be Rs 9.99.

Earlier the prices of 74 medicines were fixed.
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) had earlier revised the prices of about 74 medicines. Maximum prices of 56 medicines and retail prices (MRP) of 18 medicines have been fixed. In such a situation, medicines for allergies, heart diseases, cancer, ulcer, migraine, cold, cold, fever, antibiotics and fungal infection medicines and injections etc. will also be found expensive.
