PM’s security lapse in Punjab: Chief Justice’s bench will hear in Supreme Court today, Central and state committees are also engaged in investigation

The Supreme Court will hear the security lapse during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab today. A bench of Chief Justice NV Ramana, Justice Surya Kant and Justice Hima Kohli will hear this in the Supreme Court. In the petition filed in this case, action has been sought by taking cognizance of the negligence in the security of the PM.

It has also been said in the petition that after collecting all the evidence through the District and Sessions Judge of Bathinda, it should be investigated. Apart from this, central and state government teams have also started investigating the matter.

Center formed 3 member inquiry committee

The Central Government has also constituted an inquiry committee in the matter of PM’s security lapse. In which the Joint Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB) Balbir Singh, Security Secretary Sudhir Kumar Saxena and Special Protection Group (SPG) IG S. Suresh is included.

Punjab government committee will give report in 3 days

The Punjab government has also formed a committee regarding the security lapse in PM’s visit. The inquiry committee comprises retired Justice Mehtab Singh Gill and Punjab Home Secretary Anurag Verma. This committee will give its report in 3 days.

PM stood for 20 minutes in Highly Sensitive Zone

PM Narendra Modi was on Punjab tour on 5 January. He was to address a rally in Ferozepur. Due to bad weather I could not go by air. After which he left for Firozpur by road. On the way, some protesters blocked the road near Pyareana village. After which the PM had to stand for 20 minutes in the Highly Sensitive Zone, some distance from the Pakistan border. Then his convoy returned. PM left for Delhi from Bhisiana airport in Bathinda.

Punjab government kept denying, Sonia spoke to CM

The Punjab CM Charanjit Channi government is constantly denying the security lapse in this matter. He says that there was no crowd in the rally, so the PM did not go there. At the same time, he is questioning the central security agencies regarding the security lapse. However, in this matter, Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi also spoke to CM Channi. He said that the Prime Minister belongs to the whole country, so action should be taken against whoever is responsible for the lapse.
