Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Gujarat from Saturday. During this he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of several projects in Ahmedabad and Bhuj. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) gave this information in a statement issued on Thursday. The PMO said that Modi will inaugurate the new foot over bridge on the Sabarmati river in Ahmedabad on August 27 at the beginning of his visit. After this, he will address the ‘Khadi Utsav’ function organized on the riverfront.

7500 women will spin the spinning wheel together
In the ‘Khadi Utsav’, 7500 women Khadi artisans from different districts of Gujarat will be seen spinning the charkha at the same time and at the same place. The event will also feature an exhibition showcasing 22 charkhas from different generations in use since the 1920s. These will also include charkhas like the ‘Yervada Charkha’, which symbolizes the charkhas used during the freedom struggle.

Will visit Kutch on August 28
PM Modi will visit Kutch district on August 28. Here he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of about a dozen projects including ‘Smriti Van’. ‘Smriti Van’ is a museum built on the Bhujio hill near Bhuj town in Kutch district as a tribute to over 13,000 people who died in the Gujarat earthquake on January 26, 2001. This museum was conceived by PM Modi when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. The ‘Smriti Van’ has been built in an area of ​​470 acres.

Will inaugurate several projects in Bhuj
After this, PM will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth about Rs 4400 crore in Bhuj. It also includes the Kutch branch canal of the Sardar Sarovar Project. The total length of this canal is about 357 km. One part of the canal was inaugurated by the Prime Minister in 2017 and the rest is being inaugurated now. This canal will help in providing irrigation facility to Kutch and provide drinking water to all 948 villages and 10 towns of Kutch district.
