Amit Shah in J&K: Targeting the opposition leaders over their meeting in Patna to form an anti-BJP front, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will return in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections by winning more than 300 seats.
“Today a photo session is underway in Patna. They (opposition) want to challenge PM Modi and NDA. I want to tell them that in 2024 PM Modi will become PM by winning more than 300 seats,” he said during a public rally in Jammu amid his two-day visit to the Union Territory of J&K.
Stressing that the BJP government needs to be re-elected in 2024 LS polls, he further said that the Modi government cannot be accused of a single corruption case whereas Congress was involved in corruption of Rs 12 lakh crore. He also stated that the Modi government was responsible for reducing terrorism in the UT.
Targeting J&K leaders Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah, Shah said, “I want to ask Abdullah and Mufti, who is responsible for 42,000 deaths? The BJP government has tightened the noose around terrorism in the Valley.”
The Home Minister also asserted that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir had prospered on the path of development under the leadership of PM Modi.
“In Jammu and Kashmir every citizen is being given free health insurance of Rs 5 lakh. A new Kashmir is being built under the leadership of PM Modi,” he added.
Earlier today, the Home Minister paid tribute to Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on his death anniversary at the BJP office in Jammu.
“Today is ‘Balidan divas’ of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. The whole country knows that it is because of him that Bengal is with India today. He opposed Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. He had said that “Ek desh mein do Vidhan, do Pradhan aur do Nishan nahi chalega,” he said during his rally.
He also released a book titled ‘J&K – A Story of Transformation’ in Jammu, shortly before his public rally.
Earlier today, top opposition leaders held a meeting at the residence of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar (JDU) to chalk out a roadmap for the formation of an anti-BJP front for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. These leaders included Kumar’s deputy Tejashwi Yadav (RJD), Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, party leader Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, her Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab’s Bhagwant Mann, Tamil Nadu’s M K Stalin, Jharkhand’s Hemant Soren, Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav, Maharashtra’s former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, and NCP president Sharad Pawar.
