The Prime Minister has been visiting poll-bound Uttar Pradesh often in recent times to launch big-ticket infrastructure projects as the ruling Yogi Adityanath-led government is striving to secure a second consecutive with a sizeable majority.

On the other hand, opposition parties such as the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP), Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and Congress under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi are leaving no stone unturned in their respective bid to succeed the ruling dispensation.

Uttar Pradesh is among the five states going to assembly polls early next year.
