A mahapanchayat was held at Jantar Mantar in support of the wrestlers’ dharna.

A mahapanchayat of Khap representatives from Haryana, UP, Punjab, Delhi and Rajasthan took place on Sunday amid the strike by wrestlers at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. In this mahapanchayat which lasted for 4 and a half hours, it was decided to give 15 more days to the government for the arrest of Brij Bhushan. If the solution is not found by May 20, then a big decision will be taken by calling a mahapanchayat again on May 21.

Meanwhile, arrangements were also made for langar at Jantar Mantar in the mahapanchayat. People ate food sitting on the ground. Regarding this mahapanchayat, the Delhi Police had deployed about 2,000 jawans while making strict security arrangements. WFI President Brij Bhushan Singh’s official residence is near the wrestler’s protest site. Barricading was done there.

After doing mahapanchayat, Rakesh Tikait addressed the press conference. During this, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik were also with him. Tikait told reporters about the matter.

The farmers of Punjab reached Delhi in support of the farmers protesting at Jantar Mantar. The farmers, who reached the protest site via Tikri border, have started langar while camping at Jantar Mantar.

Rakesh Tikait asked whether the Delhi Police has not arrested anyone under similar sections before? If not done then do not arrest him (Brij Bhushan) and if done then take further action.

CPIML general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya also reached Jantar Mantar. He met the wrestlers.

Rajasthan Aam Aadmi Party Youth Wing President Anurag Brar along with workers reached Jantar Mantar to support the wrestlers.

A meeting of the leaders of the Khap Panchayats is going on in the office of the Janata Dal United (JDU) near the protest site of the wrestlers at Jantar Mantar. Wrestlers keep all their important stuff in this office.

Near the picket site is the official residence of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, president of the Wrestling Federation of India. In terms of security, barricading has also been done here. Along with this, soldiers have been deployed here.

Various Khap representatives who came to the dharna site kept their views. About 10 thousand people have reached here.
