Photographs taken by three photojournalists of the country Shibasish Saha, Chandan Khanna and Rajendra Mohan Pandey have been selected for different categories of the Andre Stenin International Press Photo Contest exhibition in Russia. These photos were selected from among 3000 participants from 54 countries. Their names are Shibasish Saha, Chandan Khanna and Rajendra Mohan Pandey.

Shibasish Saha comes from Bengal and has won many international photo contests. In her photo Evergreen Smile, an old woman blushes at the camera and tries to hide her face with peacock feathers in the middle of a Bengali New Year celebration. Even at this age, such an act touches the heart.

Chandan Khanna photographed a 67 year old woman named Katy Tobias after the Covid pandemic. Chandan works for the AFP news agency in North America and lives in the city of Miami in the state of Florida, United States. She is looking at the courtyard of her house. This woman, who lives on Anna Maria Island in Florida, has transformed the courtyard of her house into a memorial to the Covid pandemic and has tied a ribbon in tribute to each death.

At the same time, Rajendra Mohan Pandey’s picture ‘Cracking the Ice’, which shows the process of breaking the frozen water of Dal Lake in Kashmir, was also a topic of discussion.

Exhibition of photos held in Delhi till February 20
An exhibition of photos of the winners of the Andre Stenin Competition for the year 2022 is being organized in many big cities of the world. This exhibition tour reached Delhi via many cities of the world. Prior to New Delhi, the Stainin Contest International Roadshow has been held in cities such as Pretoria in South Africa and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.

Organized by Russia’s well-known news agency Sputnik, the best photographs of many young photojournalists of India have been displayed to the public at the Arts Gallery of All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society. The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov and Alexander Shtol.
