The Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear a plea seeking to declare the cow as the national animal. A bench of Justice SK Kaul and Justice Abhay reprimanded the petitioner and asked whether this was the work of the court. Why file such petitions on which we are compelled to impose fine.

If you have come to court, should the law be ignored. Whose fundamental right has been affected, which you have filed a petition under Article 32. Why do you people file such petitions?

The petition was filed by the NGO Govansh Seva Sadan

Court told the lawyer – withdraw the case
The counsel for the petitioner told the court that cow protection is very important. The government has said in all cases that cows should always be protected. The government should consider this. We are getting everything from cows. The court said that court’s time is wasted in such cases. At the same time, warned the lawyer and said that the case should be withdrawn, otherwise fine would be imposed.
