The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition seeking declaring Satyendra Jain as deranged and debarring his membership from the assembly. A fine of Rs 20,000 has also been imposed on the petitioner. Not only this, the court told the petitioner that it is very poor. Significantly, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Satyendar Jain, who is in judicial custody since May 30 in a money laundering case.

A bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice AS Oka, in its order on the plea of ​​the Delhi man, said, “This is such a wrong and frivolous petition which should be dismissed at a cost of Rs 20,000.”

The petitioner’s counsel had argued that Jain had told the ED officials during interrogation that he had lost his memory due to Corona. Therefore they are disqualified under Article 191(1)(b) of the Constitution. The bench observed while asking petitioner Ashish Kumar Srivastava to deposit the fine within a week- “This petition is so ridiculous that we should ask you to pay the cost.”
