Gamini Singla reached Shri Naina Devi Shaktipeeth with her family on success.

Gamini Singla, an alumnus of Punjab Engineering College (PEC) Chandigarh has secured AIR 3 rank in the UPSC result. According to Gamini, his father’s emotional support has been instrumental in fulfilling this childhood dream.

BTech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) Gamini started preparing for the exam from home in 2020 with more emphasis on self study. With Gamini securing third place, there is an atmosphere of celebration in PEC along with his family.

Father used to read newspaper to save time

According to Gamini, his father Dr. Alok Singla and mother Dr. Neeraj Singla are medical officers in the Himachal Pradesh government. He also helped a lot in studies. Father used to read newspapers for me and could save time. According to Gamini, a resident of Anandpur Sahib, she has often been talking to her father about studies and preparations. Gamini’s brother is a graduate from IIT Kharagpur.

Gamini an example for other students

PEC’s CSE department Prof. Sanjeev Sofat told that Gamini has been a very brilliant student. The department was confident that she would secure a good rank. It is a moment of joy and pride for the entire tricity. She was very good in studies from the very beginning. PEC Director Baldev Setia said that this achievement of Gamini is an example for other students. Will inspire them to work hard. Gamini has been a student of PEC from the year 2015 to 2019.

If I had taken the job, I probably wouldn’t be here

According to Professor Rajesh Bhatia in PEC, she was very fast in studies and also very hardworking. She was also a class representative and was offered a job during campus placement but she declined. She wanted to give civil services exam. She could not crack the exam in her first attempt, but she kept on trying and got success.

On the success of the daughter, the family reached the mother’s door

On the success of Gamini Singla, the whole family reached the Shaktipeeth Shrinainadevi to bow their heads. Gamini’s father Dr. Alok Singla and mother Dr. Neeraj Singla are working in Primary Health Center Toba and Tarsooh in Srinainadevi sub-division of Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. The entire family reached the court of Shaktipeeth Srinainadevi, performed Bhangra on the beat of the dhol and got the blessings of the mother.

Father said – the child’s hard work paid off

Gamini Singla said that the credit for her success lies with God as well as the entire family. His grandfather and grandmother also supported him fully. His grandfather had passed away a few months earlier. Father Alok Singla said that the hard work of the girl has paid off. She had been trying for a long time. Mother Dr. Neeraj Singla said that she has got the blessings of Mata Rani. Brother Tushar Singla said that he got the fruits of his sister’s hard work.
