Passenger died in flight going from Delhi to Doha: Indigo plane made emergency landing in Karachi due to deteriorating health

IndiGo’s flight was going from Delhi to Doha in Qatar on Sunday night. During this, due to deteriorating health of a passenger, it was decided to divert the flight to Jinnah Airport in Karachi.

A 60-year-old passenger’s health deteriorated in an IndiGo flight going from Delhi to Qatar’s capital Doha. In view of the medical emergency, the flight was diverted to Karachi, Pakistan, but the passenger died before reaching the airport.

At Jinnah Airport in Karachi, the crew of the flight reached the medical team with the passenger, where the team declared the passenger dead. This incident happened on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Abdullah, a resident of Nigeria.

Another flight was arranged to take the passengers to Doha.
IndiGo issued a statement saying that a passenger on flight 6E-1736 was feeling unwell mid-flight. Due to this, emergency landing was done, but the old man had died even before the landing of the flight. We are deeply saddened by this incident. Our prayers are with his family. Indigo had also informed that another flight is being arranged to take the rest of the passengers to Doha.

The flight was landed at Jinnah Airport in Karachi.  The flight stood here for about five hours.  After this the flight reached Delhi with the deceased.

Indigo said that after landing at Karachi airport, the flight was stuck there for about five hours. After the death certificate of the deceased was issued by the Pakistani doctors and all the formalities were completed, his dead body was sent to Delhi in this flight.
