Parkash Singh Badal tests Covid positive, in Ludhiana hospital | Ludhiana News – Times of India

LUDHIANA: Former Punjab chief minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patron Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday tested positive for Covid-19 and was admitted to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). The 94-year-old veteran politician was brought with Covid related symptoms.
Dr Bishav Mohan, who is in the team of doctors treating Badal, confirmed that his RT-PCR report is positive and he had mild symptoms like mild fever, scratchy throat, cold and cough.
“Since he is elderly person with comorbidities, he is in hospital so that his health can be monitored,” said Dr Mohan, who is professor of cardiology at DMCH.
shiromani akali Dal leader and party’s candidate from Ludhiana West Maheshinder Singh Grewal said Badal senior is looked after by a government doctor round the clock, but at DMCH a team of doctor is monitoring his health.
The medical report released by DMCH at 4.06 pm read, “Parkash Singh Badal was admitted today in Dayanand Medical College on January 19 at 1.30 pm with Covid-19…. He is stable and is in the private room at present. All the necessary investigations for complete evaluation have been sent”.
