‘Papa, I Will Not be Able to Pass JEE’: Bihar Student Dies by Suicide in Kota, Sixth Case This Year – News18

A 16-year-old Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main aspirant from Bihar, Abhishek Singh, has died by suicide in Kota.  So far, a total of six students have died by suicide in Kota this year. A suicide note was found in his room. “Papa, I can’t handle it. And I will not be able to pass JEE,” the suicide note reads.

A resident of Bhagalpur, Bihar, Abhishek was preparing for JEE in Kota for the last year. He died by suicide on Friday by consuming celphos poison at the paying guest accommodation he was staying in.

DSP Dharamveer Singh said that the student had been living in a paying guest accommodation in the Vigyan Nagar area in Kota for the past month. His family members have been informed and the investigation has been taken up, Singh added. Police officials added that Abhishek had also skipped two exams scheduled at his coaching on January 29 and February 19.

Earlier in January, another student preparing for the JEE died by suicide in Rajasthan’s Kota. In her suicide note, the 18-year-old girl hailing from Kota’s Borkheda wrote, “Mummy Papa, I can’t do JEE. So I suicide. I am loser. I worst daughter. Sorry Mummy, Papa. This is the last option I have.” She was found hanging at her residence. As per media reports, even after dedicating over seven hours to her studies each day, she was left in a highly stressed situation. The unfortunate incident took place at place late on January 23 in the Jawahar Nagar police station.
