Belagavi: The city police arrested two men for peddling clothes sachets on Monday. The accused have been identified as Tausif Riyaz Nizami26, and Suraj Ajay Banaskara25.
Acting on a tip-off from reliable sources, a police team conducted a raid on the two accused while they were trying to sell the sachets. Panni is supplied from Mumbai and Pune. The powdered substance is inhaled by rolling on paper and lighting it. Some snort the substance too.
Police have seized 48 grams of panni worth Rs 64,740 along with Rs 1,150 and a cellphone. Each packet has a market value of Rs 300-400.
