OnePlus Watch 2 May Launch With Metal Chassis, Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 Chipset

OnePlus is preparing to unveil the sequel to OnePlus Watch 1, the purorted OnePlus Watch 2. In 2021, OnePlus launched its inaugural smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch 1, marking a notable debut in the wearable market. Featuring a 1.39-inch AMOLED display, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage, and a range of other functionalities, it garnered much attention. Initial leaks suggest that the forthcoming OnePlus Watch 2 may make use of Wear OS.

According to initial leaks by MySmartPrice, in collaboration with famed leakster OnLeaks, we have details of the key features and specs of the OnePlus Watch 2. The renders reveal that OnePlus is sticking with the tried, tested and loved circular dial design for its second smartwatch, similar to the design language that Samsung follows for its Galaxy line of smartwatches.

The new OnePlus smartwatch appears to feature a metal chassis, accompanied by a pair of buttons positioned on the right side of the dial. Additionally, it will offer simple rubber straps, available in two colour choices: black and white.

As per leakster Steve H. McFly (@OnLeaks), renders and specifications of the OnePlus Watch 2 suggest straightforward black and white rubber straps. The leaked information also suggest inclusion of features such as heart rate tracking, step count, and compatibility as well as multiple watch faces. According to the report, the OnePlus Watch 2 is set to operate on Wear OS 4, marking a significant upgrade from the original OnePlus smartwatch.

The device is expected to boast a 1.43-inch AMOLED display and be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset.

The OnePlus Watch 2 smartwatch, with model number OPWWE231, has also been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, indicating an imminent launch in India. The smartwatch is likely to debut in 2024, it is likely to coincide with the release of the OnePlus 12 flagship smartphone.
