One person dies, six injured in Ludhiana district court blast | Ludhiana News – Times of India

LUDHIANA: One person died whereas six others were injured in a bomb blast at the second floor of Court complex in Ludhiana on Thursday noon.
Whereas the identity of the deceased is not known, the injured have been identified as 35-year-old Gurpreet Kaur of Jamalpur, Sandeep Kaur (31) of village Raikot, 25-year-old Sharanjit Kaur of Jamalpur Ludhiana, 32-year-old Manish Kumar of police colony in Jamalpur, 50-year-old advocate Kuldeep Singh | Mand of Bindraban road and Krishan Khanna (75) of Phase One Dugri.
Whereas Sandeep and Sharanjit Kaur were admitted in civil hospital, Manish was admitted in CMC, Kuldeep Singh and Krishan Khanna at DMC.
Ludhiana police commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the incident happened inside the public toilet on the second floor of Court complex. He added that after hearing that there has been blast, senior officers rushed to the spot and the reasons are not known immediately as it is difficult to reach the conclusion.
Senior Police officers said that they are trying to identify the body of a suspect found at the spot. He added that it appears that he had explosives or he was near or was carrying it but it is preliminary finding and cannot be be confirmed.
Police commissioner said that the area has been cleared and anti-sabotage team is searching the whole complex and Bomb disposal team has also reached the spot. He added that NSG team has also started from Delhi besides detective staff is investigating and CCTVs are being checked.
The district bar association (DBA) said that since advocates were on strike, so the rush of persons was less. It added that blast happened in the judicial complex building number one.
