Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Vice President of National Conference Omar Abdullah questioned the Election Commissioner for not conducting elections in the state. Abdullah said on Tuesday, ‘Election is our right, the commission should answer it. If they want to take away the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and it gives them satisfaction, then do it.

Umar also said, ‘We also have self-respect, we will not beg anyone to conduct elections. We also have self-respect, we are not hungry-naked who kneel before them. The Election Commission should answer, we want to hear from them.

Omar’s allegation – Election Commission is under pressure
Omar Abdullah said that the Chief Election Commissioner during his last visit had recognized that there was a void in Jammu and Kashmir. He asked, ‘Had the Chief Election Commissioner not said that there is a vacuum in Jammu and Kashmir. Why is it not being filled? If the Election Commission is under pressure then they should clearly say that they are under pressure and that is why they cannot conduct elections here.

Tried to show everything right from G-20
Umar also termed the G-20 meeting held in Srinagar last month as a sham. Umar said – An attempt has been made to present Kashmir in front of the world through the G-20 meeting in Srinagar. But the people living here know the reality. There’s a traffic mess here. The distance which used to be covered in 5 minutes, is taking 40 minutes due to the jam.
