Odisha Train Accident: The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has alleged that Odisha triple train accident was TMC’s ‘conspiracy’ and that the party ‘tapped’ the phones of two railway officials. According to ANI, West Bengal leader of the opposition and BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari said that the people of TMC, with the help of the police, tapped the phones of two railway officials else how they would know about the conversation between them. Adhikari also asked why CM Mamata’s party is panicking over this incident which occurred in another state.
Slamming the TMC, Adhikari said, “This incident is TMC’s conspiracy. Why have they been panicking so much since yesterday when this incident is of another state? Why are they afraid of CBI investigation? These people with the help of the police tapped the phones of both the railway officials. How did these people know the conversation between two railway officials? How the conversation got leaked.”
As per ANI, the BJP leader further said that this angle should also be investigated by the CBI else he will go to court.
The response came over an alleged audio clip of a conversation between two railway officials, which TMC leader Kunal Ghosh tweeted last Sunday, as per HT.

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has cancelled her trip to North Bengal and will instead travel to Odisha on Tuesday (June 6) to meet with injured train passengers who are being treated in the neighbouring state. During a press conference, Mamata Banerjee stated that the state ministers in West Bengal have divided the work and are visiting patients in various hospitals to provide assistance.
The Chief Minister will be accompanied to Odisha by state ministers Chandrima Bhattacharya and Sashi Panja.
In the aftermath of the devastating train tragedy in Odisha, Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena revealed on Monday that 105 bodies remain unidentified. The District Magistrate has been instructed to provide a comprehensive figure. The number of injured individuals has exceeded 1200, with over 950 already discharged from hospitals. As of the latest update, 170 bodies have been identified. To aid in identification efforts and offer support, two toll-free numbers (18003450061 and 1929) have been established.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has taken charge of the situation, directing the government to assume complete responsibility for identifying and removing the bodies. Measures are being implemented to alleviate the challenges faced by the Chief Minister’s office.
In a positive development, the railway line has been restored, enabling the resumption of train services along the affected route. This step aims to facilitate transportation and restore normalcy in the region.
